Application Details and Requirements
At BFF, our goal is to help families affected by cancer by raising funds to provide some support. The application process is for families who have a child who has been given a pediatric cancer diagnosis. Anyone can refer a child to BFF by having a parent of the child go to bffkids.org and then to Application.
The form must be completed by a parent or guardian of child diagnosed. Please provide as much detail as possible and any additional information that can help the process move more quickly (pictures, website, social media, published stories, etc.).
Each request is accepted on a case by case situation. We accept applications from families during and after treatment. BFF will review the applications as quickly as possible. Please keep in mind that all requests go through an approval process and may not be paid in the timeframe of when the bill or payment is due. Some requests will take much longer to put together.
If you are applying for financial assistance, you must submit a bill or paperwork showing what you need the funds for since it will be paid directly by BFF. After you have submitted your application, you will receive an email from BFF acknowledging receipt. The request will then be reviewed by the BFF Board and someone from BFF may contact you to discuss the application or you'll receive an email of approval. Once the specifics of the requested assistance have been completed, BFF will either send the payment by mail or directly to you. At this time, BFF can only service one request per family for one year from date of application.
*Must be a resident of the United States to be considered. Priority consideration will be given to families that live in the Chicagoland area and surrounding communities, counties and states.
